Casals Motorsport will take on a double programme in the championships promoted by RIZA International for the 2026 season. After announcing its entry into the TCR European Endurance, the team led by Gustavo Sandrucci and Giulio Cappello will also compete in the new GT4 class within the GTC Endurance Challenge.
The Italian outfit, based in Terni, will hit the track with the BMW M4 GT4 Evo, the Bavarian manufacturer’s flagship model for the category. Building on the experience gained during its racing debut in 2025—marked by strong results in the Italian TCR Italy championship—Casals Motorsport also offers an extensive testing and coaching programme for private drivers, with the M4 GT4 among the cars available. Founded in 2024 from the vision and passion of Giulio Cappello and combined with the on-track experience of Gustavo Sandrucci, both driver and team manager, the team received the German car at the end of 2025, when the first track tests began.
The BMW M4 GT4 Evo was conceived and developed by the manufacturer with a strong focus on versatility and reliability, making it highly competitive in endurance racing, including for customer teams. Powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine producing over 500 hp—adjustable according to Balance of Performance—the car also features improved traction control and a revised front splitter compared to the previous model. The results confirm the strength of the project: the M4 GT4 Evo has achieved numerous successes worldwide, including the prestigious SP10 class victory at the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
BMW thus becomes the second manufacturer to be announced for the new GTC Endurance Challenge, following Alpine. The official debut is scheduled for the weekend of April 19, when the GTC Endurance Challenge and TCR European Endurance will kick off their 2026 season at the Vallelunga circuit.
