Wimmer Werk Motorsport has finalized its line-up for the GTC Endurance Challenge. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 will feature a debuting crew that combines youth and experience: alongside Jacob Trost, making his first-ever appearance in closed-wheel racing, will be Hans Peter Eder.
For the Austrian driver, this marks a return to the Wimmer brothers’ outfit, with whom he had already collaborated in endurance racing during the 2019 TCR 500 at Spa. The team will also compete in the TCR European Endurance, the championship promoted by RIZA International for TCR cars, where it will be tasked with defending the three titles secured in 2025 after a dominant season.
The 2026 season will therefore see the Fischamend-based team tackle a dual program within the RIZA International paddock, with the addition of the GT4 category alongside the TCR class throughout the championship. This is not new territory for the Austrian squad, which has already gained experience with Porsche in key series such as ADAC GT4 and the GT4 European Series—important steps in the lead-up to its GTC Endurance Challenge debut.
The 718 Cayman GT4 RS, powered by the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter engine derived from the 911 GT3, represents the latest evolution developed in Weissach and forms the core of the team’s GT program in recent seasons. With strong technical foundations and immediate success already shown in the TCR European Endurance, Wimmer Werk Motorsport heads into the season as one of the main contenders also in the GT4 category.
The GTC Endurance Challenge will kick off on April 19 at Vallelunga. The calendar will then continue with the Slovakiaring round on June 7, followed by the Spanish event at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on September 27. The season finale will take place in Italy at Misano on November 15.
