The maiden session in the history of the GTC Endurance Challenge is officially in the books. At the Autodromo di Vallelunga, the series promoted by Riza International hit the ground running in FP1, sharing the track with TCR European Endurance in the opening session of the weekend.
It was Davide Nardilli and Giacomo Maman (BMW M4 GT4 Evo) who clocked the fastest time in the GT4 field, thanks to a 1:40.378 set at the end of the 40 minutes at their disposal. The Casals Motorsport duo led from start to finish, in a session that saw a brief interruption due to a red flag. Second position belonged to Bastos/Ebrahim (Aston Martin Vantage GT4), as the Brazilian pair secured a top three finish on Gino Motorsport’s official debut in the series promoted by Riza International. Esposito/Gavazza (BMW M4 GT4 Evo) were third fastest, while also taking top spot in the AM class. Fourth position went to Tuder Motorsport’s Damante/Maccari (Alpine A110 GT4), while Visdomini/Kamiloglu (Porsche Cayman 718 GT4) rounded out the top five for Autorlando.
The on-track action continues later today for FP2, with a second 40-minute session scheduled at 16:40 local time. Qualifying will instead take place on Saturday 18 April, with the first section scheduled at 9:00 local time and the second at 9:40 – both lasting 15 minutes. Stage-1 is set to begin later that day at 16:00 local time, whereas the second stage takes place on Sunday 19 April, when the green flag will be waived at 14:15 local time. Both stages will be broadcast on GO-TV’s official YouTube channel, which boasts more thank 80.000 subscribers, as well as on PitwallTV and Acelera GP’s YouTube channels.
